About Us
Since 1951, GVTC has been a vital partner to the community. Because of our local heritage, GVTC maintains a strong bond with the surrounding areas, and we view ourselves as a community leader. Most of our employees live, work, and raise families alongside many of the people we serve. This connection is the motivation behind our ongoing community outreach. In fact, over the years, GVTC's generosity has grown as fast and with as much dedication as our coverage area and technology.
Even our auditorium at the Smithson Valley location is used on a regular basis by various community organizations as a convenient and well-equipped meeting space.
It's only natural, that after 50 years of service, we view our community as an extended family, and it's this "home-grown" feeling that led to the establishment of The GVTC Foundation in 2007.
The mission of the GVTC Foundation is to empower our communities by generating and distributing funds to enrich, maintain, and expand programs needed to support charitable activities, nonprofit, and educational pursuits.
The GVTC Foundation has given back over $100,000.00 to our community in just its initial year and continues to provide technology (computers, monitors, and printers) to local schools and nonprofits through our equipment recycling program.
The GVTC Foundation also gives back to the community through employee voluntarism; use of our spacious auditorium; "adoption" of low income families during the holiday season; and through our capital credit campaign, "Credits for the Community".
